About the studio
Most software you use is rented. The servers stay up because someone is still paying the bill. The data is fine because the company is still solvent. The features keep working because the vendor still cares about that segment.
That model is fine for things that genuinely need a server. It is a bad fit for a maintenance log, a watch journal, a firearm registry, a parts list, a household inventory — tools that are fundamentally about you keeping track of your own stuff.
localfile.studio builds those tools as single HTML files. You double-click the file. The browser opens it. Your data goes into the browser's local storage on your machine. There is no server, no account, no telemetry. If the studio disappears tomorrow, your file keeps working forever.
You buy each product once. Every future version is free, because the marginal cost of a download is zero and we don't see any reason to invent recurring revenue where none is justified.
“Software you own. Files you keep.” is not a tagline. It is the product spec.
